I wanted to share some epic spots for engagement photos! First up are the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
A couple of suggestions for locations are:
- Cathedral Ledge. One of the reasons why I love this spot so much, is because it is so easily accessible. You can drive to the top and walk to this gorgeous spot. The views are unbelievable; in every season!
- Diana’s Baths This location is a short hike to rocks, ledges, cascading falls and glacial pools. It is the perfect spot to dip your toes in the water and get some unique photos.
- Echo Lake and Cannon Mt. Echo Lake is one of my favorite spots in the fall, the foliage is amazing, and in the summer you can rent paddleboats and venture out in the middle of the deep, clear water. In the same spot, you can take a gondola to the top of Cannon Mt, one of the 4k foot peaks of New Hampshire and view Franconia Notch. If you are up for the hike Artist’s Bluff is across the street from the parking lot, and has one of the most iconic views of the White Mountains.
- Mt. Washington. Can you even talk about the White Mountains of New Hampshire without mentioning this beauty?! I have hiked it in all kinds of weather, and it always takes my breath away. If you are up for a small hike, the hike to the Hermit Lake Shelters at the base of Tuckerman’s Ravine shows off the breathtaking heights and beauty of the mountain. But you can also take a car or the train to the top of the mountain and witness the views from the top, I suggest taking a car and stopping in the alpine garden during the summer!
- Glen Ellis Falls. If you didn’t already realize, I am obsessed with waterfalls. Glen Ellis falls is a short and easy hike to get to and the views are totally worth it! Not only do you get to see a fantastic waterfall, but you can also head away from the waterfall and get some views of the valley.
Upstate New York is such a versatile location for an engagement session; with it’s stunning lakes, mountains, and forests. I love a location that can give you several different looks within a close area.
Some suggestions in this area are:
- Schroon Lake, full of pine laden beaches, this lake is smaller than the Finger Lakes…but much quieter. It provides amazing mountain views.
- Whiteface Mountain The summit of Whiteface Mountain provides 360° views that reach as far as Vermont and Canada on a clear day. You can also drive to the top of the mountain as well as hiking it, making it much more accessible for photos!
- Lake George Known as the “Queen of the American Lakes,” it has miles of shoreline, and hundreds of islands. The views surrounding it are breathtaking, a perfect postcard of Adirondack wilderness.
Number three is Cape Cod…who doesn’t love the beach…I mean come on! I know, my family loves to spend summers listening to the sound of the waves and feeling the sea breeze.
Some spots I love on the Cape are:
- Ptown…who doesn’t love the color and the atmosphere in Provincetown. Not only is the town stunning and fun, but Racepoint Beach is almost from another world with it’s tall dunes.
- Nauset Beach, who doesn’t love a coastal New England light house. Nauset is one of the most classic Cape Cod beaches. Another suggestion close to it is the Fort Hill Trails, with tall saltmarsh grass and coastal inlets, this is a totally different look than the lighthouse.
- Newcomb or Cahoun Hollow Beaches. Both of these beaches have huge dunes and waves.
