Western MA Wedding Venue Spotlight: Quonquont Farm

Why I love it:

Nestled in the hilltowns of Western MA, Quonquont is as  full New England charm as it gets!  I love driving up to the farm and seeing the red silos and yellow farmhouse amongst the apple trees and gardens.  They have so many options for outdoor ceremony locations, my favorite was a fall wedding in the apple orchard!  The locations for photos are absolutely endless, there are streams, fields of wild flowers, tall grass, orchards…I could go on forever!

What makes your venue unique?

I think its a combination of our history and setting that helps make our venue unique. The farm has a long history dating back to the 1800’s. Most of the buildings on the property currently date back to the 1900’s when the farm was known as Quonquont Stock Farm, a successful dairy and cattle farm. All of our buildings have been thoughtfully renovated to mirror the original structures. The farm is currently an operating fruit and flower farm which provides a unique backdrop for couples on their wedding day. Our event barn is a beautiful twist of rustic and elegant which gives couples a rustic feel with all the modern amenities. Wedding ceremonies can take place right in the apple orchard, an intimate and fragrant location. We also have a ceremony location in the lawn overlooking one of our fields which provides a natural habitat for many grassland-nesting birds like meadowlarks and bobolinks.

What amenities do you offer?

Our barn is equipped with a catering kitchen, restrooms (for 200 guests), AC/ heat, tables (both round and rectangular), ceremony chairs, reception chairs, floor length ivory linens, wedding suite, bar services, some small decorative items,  day of coordination and on site management during the event. We strive to handle all the logistics from room and decoration set up, parking management, greeting and directing guests, ceremony & reception management, and clean up at the end of the evening. We want our couples and their families to be able to enjoy every minute of the day without worrying about the logistics.

What advice would you give brides and grooms?

Hire vendors you’re excited about and trust. Being able to leave things in the hands of your trusted vendors will allow you to step back and fully enjoy your wedding day. In the same vein, take a few moments during the day to step back and soak everything in. Be present in the moment and don’t be afraid to take a few moments away together.
