Alec and Ciara | Grafton Inn Wedding | Grafton, VT

I have literally been so excited for this wedding all year, I adore Vermont…and Ciara and Alec incorporated so much of Vermont into their wedding day, from a first look at a covered bride, flannel shirts for the girls, and Vermont craft ales.  Both Alec and Ciara got ready separately at the inn, surrounded by their friends and family.  Ciara’s grandmother had eye surgery the prior week and was not able to fly in, so she was face timed into the getting ready with the ladies.  Ciara did a first look with her bridesmaids, dad, and Alec….this made my first look heart so happy!

Water is really important to Alec and he wanted to get his toes wet in the Saxton River, so after their first look, we hiked down to the river and did just that.  I love when couples take chances on their wedding days and aren’t afraid to get a little dirty 🙂

Alec’s dad preformed their wedding ceremony, and I loved seeing this twist on a JP.  I have seen friends perform the wedding ceremony before, but never a parent.  It made everything more personal.  I loved Ciara and Alec’s nontraditional vows, especially that she promised to not get hangry when fed regularly (a girl after my own heart)!  After their first kiss as a married couple, their guests threw confetti, which was a colorful and fun surprise!

The reception was held in the barn and full of desserts, Ciara loves to bake and baked her own wedding cake and cupcakes!  I didn’t get to try one (they were gone so fast) but they looked amazing!  Ciara’s grandfather started off the festivities with a toast and the crowd danced the night away!
